Tina Tang Jewellery

Followers, Jessica Biel and Tyra Banks are just one of many Tina Tangs fans.
Jessica Biel has been papped wearing her year of the dog pendant designed by Tina Tang.

Following her dream, Tina Tang left her equities trader job at Goldman Sachs to design jewellery. Which I think is a brilliant move.

Illustration Friday - Flawed

A quick idea for Illustration fridays topic of flawed...a big flaw for penguins is they cannot fly.

Illustration Friday - Climbing

The iconic stilletto shoe, physically climbing in height. A serious shoe equals a climb to the top?Careful though its high up there and a delicate heel can break.

Silver Charms

From my previous December post of charms handcarved in wax, here are some more charms handmade by me for Jewelled www.jewelled.info. I need to work on a hinged envelope for a customer. The customer would like a 'trinket' to keep an old £5 note in. First thought was a small silver treasure chest as a charm. Now I'm leaning towards a hinged envelope charm to keep the £5 note in?

Tomasz Donocik

Tomasz Donocik has won Collections New Designer of the year 2009

Donocik describes his collection - "My collection targets a male metrosexual audience and looks at alternative and subtle ways men should wear jewellery. The pieces are timeless, consisting of luxurious and elegant materials such as gold, precious stones, leather and silk, but contrasted by playful and avant-garde sporadic elements of surrealism."

Donocik collaborated with Stephen Webster. After the departure of Jade Jagger, Stephen Webster is appointed creative director of Garrards.

While finding more about Donocik I stumbled upon this wonderful website - http://www.pool-mag.net/international/content1.html?id=587&iid=25

Never Judge a Doris Lessing book by its cover...

While on holiday in Fowey Cornwall I found (and subsequently bought) 'Briefing for a descent into hell by Doris Lessing'. I could not help but to buy this book for its cover. The book is US, 1971, 2nd printing. The jacket design by John Gerbino.

Listening to News about artist Reuben Powell. He is documenting the changes of Elephant and Castle.

I like his free approach to line and heavy use of shading in his drawing.
